I caught his performance yesterday and it was so amazing, the crowd were getting so high with his 8-bit gameboy's electronic beat and jumping here and there. Real fun!

But honestly i prefer Taku's stuff more than Alan one :P

A genius director from Japan,
the one who created the mind-blowing music videos for Cornelius and so on. Type Koichiro Tsujikawa in Youtube and you'll get to see most of his brilliant works.

Nagi Noda 1973-2008

Nagi Noda, 1973 - 2008.

My first met Nagi's works was in Collette 2006.

That was almost our last day in Paris.
We were visiting Louvre museum in the morning. Louvre is too huge and it's impossible to see every single artworks in one day. And I know if I walked in usual speed, I'll gonna missed out Nagi's exhibition in Collette. So I ran, by skipping a lot paintings and finished my Louvre's trip in half day.

To me, Nagi's works are even more inspiring than staring at Monalisa for hours. ( Yes, i have to admit I don't know how to appreciate oil paintings,
I am low class.)

I was in love with Nagi's works since then. She is so daring, brilliant, genius, unique... 'creative' is not enough to describe her, please suggest me a few new words.

This morning when I was surfing some design portals as usual, i was so shocked by the headline ' In Memory of Nagi Noda'. No way! Is this a joke? Is this some teaser or viral for Nagi's latest exhibition? I still can't accepted it and so I Googled, and Wikied... And It is real, Nagi passed away on 7 Sept 2008 in the age of 35.

This is a great sadness, i was depressed for a while,
and smoke a few cigarettes continuously, then called friends about the news... like losing someone really important in my life, I dunno why.

We will miss you Nagi. See you when I am 35.

高佬上个礼拜先响安邦食紧福建面，估唔到今日就要飞来上海食小笼包。

Money does not make me happy

Complaining is silly. Either act or forget.
Thinking life will be better in the future is stupid. I have to live now.
Being not truthful works against me.
Helping other people helps me.
Organizing a charity group is surprisingly easy.
Everything I do always comes back to me.
Drugs feel great in the beginning and become a drag later on.
Over time I get used to everything and start taking it for granted.
Money does not make me happy.
Traveling alone is helpful for a new perspective on life.
Assuming is stifling.
Keeping a diary supports my personal development.
Trying to look good limits my life.
Worrying solves nothing.
Material luxuries are best enjoyed in small doses.
Having guts always works out for me.

Hong Kong's music industry is always being so commercial and no love, i was quite surprise when i saw this MV, one of the very few nice music videos from Hong Kong, and funny name too!

Hong Kong's art & design scene is getting more and more interesting in this few years, with more of their popular idols starting aware about the importance of design (although it's also for commercial value). Compare to a designer who is working in the studio 24/7, or creating designer's product and sell to other designer fella, I think their influence and communication to the public is even more direct and major.

Maybe we should consider taking part in next Idol's contest...

a hot bath after long working hours saves my life

Paranoid Portland

I was watching Paranoid Park by Gus Van Sant last week...

“The bridge! I walked over there before! Ha~”
The nice movie reminds me the nice city - Portland. A place that you'll never think of travel to, it is not a heaven for shopping, doesn't have world famous landmarks or nice beaches, islands for getaway.

It's just a moderate, quiet and peaceful little city. I miss that place a lot after watching the movie, hoping that will have chance to get back there sometimes before I die.

By the way the movie is pretty good, still the classic Gus's house of cleanliness, plus Christopher Doyle's cinematography, and some minimal-tech going on as background music.

Really enjoyable, like the city itself. For more Portland Pics :D

the man behind the giant footprints

Just found out the giant footprint's firework for Beijing Olympics
opening is actually done by the world-renowned artist Cai Guo-Qiang.

No wonder!

I was checking back his works, and it is so freaking amazing~
Painting with gun-powder, exploding car installation, the black rainbow, conceptual fireworks and performances. Every single one of them is
a masterpiece.

Although there are a lot of negative critiques about the opening,
but I'm still looking forward for the closing ceremony.
